Privacy Policy

Last updated August 12, 2026

This is a plain-language summary, not a substitute for legal advice. It hasn't been reviewed by an attorney.

This policy explains what information The Nourishment Project collects through this website, why, and how it's handled. We don't sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

Information we collect

  • Orders: name, phone number, and email when you place a food order. Payment card details are entered directly into Square's payment form and never touch our servers.
  • Donations: name, email, and donation amount, collected and processed by Zeffy, our donation platform. We receive donor information from Zeffy for receipting and impact reporting.
  • Contact form: name, email, phone (optional), organization (optional), and your message, stored in our database (hosted by Supabase).
  • Newsletter: your email address, stored in our database (Supabase), if you sign up for updates.
  • Text messages: your phone number, if you opt in to order-status texts, used by Twilio to send those messages.

We don't currently run any analytics or advertising trackers on this site. Third-party tools embedded on the site — Square's checkout form and Zeffy's donation form — may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies, which we don't control.

How we use it

To fulfill your food order, process your donation and send a receipt, respond to your message, send the newsletter or order-status texts you signed up for, and keep records required for our nonprofit tax filings. We don't use your information for anything beyond running the organization and communicating with you.

Third parties we work with

  • Square — food order payment processing
  • Zeffy — donation processing
  • Twilio — order-status text messages
  • Supabase — database hosting for contact and newsletter submissions

Data retention

We keep donation and order records for as long as needed for tax and accounting purposes — generally several years, consistent with IRS recordkeeping guidance for nonprofits. Contact messages are kept as long as needed to respond and for our own records.

Your choices

Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Reply STOP to any text message to stop receiving texts. To ask us to delete contact or newsletter information we hold about you, email thenourishmentprojectdfw@gmail.com.

Children's privacy

This site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the organization grows. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do.
